What Abstract Painting is all About

Perhaps you've seen a lot of paintings already and out of the paintings you've seen, you appreciate only a few of them. You see, there are different painting styles and techniques used by painters. One of these styles is abstract painting. When you say abstract painting, not many appreciate it probably because of its different style and not so ordinary appearance. But despite the oddness of such painting style, you should not judge it at first sight. Instead, you should try to understand why it was painted.

Abstract painting started hundreds of years ago. There are famous abstract paintings housed in museums. Private collectors who love abstract painting also have some of them. Abstract paintings are good investments as well as collection items. You'll never know how much a certain painting would cost in the future and with the great awareness and appreciation of people nowadays for abstract painting, even you can't tell a paintings value. Some of the famous abstract painters were Picasso, Van Gogh, and Modigliani. Because of these artist's beautiful works, abstract painting became even more famous.

Do you know what abstract painting is? This type of painting can be defined in various ways. Unlike traditional paintings, abstract painting doesn’t portray reality. Before, painting was all about depicting a realistic or photographic expression of something or someone. However, abstract paintings are a lot different. The painting itself does not illustrate real objects. The shapes and colors shown in abstract paintings are non-objective and non-representing. The painting may refer to a person or to any other individual, anything, or even nothing. If you can't understand the meaning of a particular painting, you can ask the experts or even the painter about its meaning. Natural art lovers on the other hand, don’t need explanations because if they love abstract paintings, they will understand clearly the significance of the painting.

Try to look at an abstract painting. You will see bright, vivid, and bold colors. Aside from the colors, you will also note that the painting has biometric shapes. For art lovers, this is a beautiful and strange piece.

Way back in 1940, Abstract Expressionism is a movement pushed through by the artists. The artists and painters supported abstract painting and they wanted the freedom of expression through the paintings they made. This made abstract painting more popular. The movement began in a particular school in New York and the movement was also called Action Painting. Among the American schools that joined the movement declared their independence from the artworks of European style. After this, abstract painting was pushed forward.

In order to understand and appreciate abstract painting, you must know its humble beginnings. Even if abstract painting is quite odd, you should still learn to love it because its part of history and it is still a painting which expresses the thoughts and feelings of painters. You can get paintings like this in art galleries online and local art shops.  Some are quite expensive but there are also cheap ones. You can get replicas of the original classic abstract paintings made by the famous painters by purchasing them in certain companies that commission this kind of painting style.

Try to conduct a research about abstract painting. You can find many resources online so that you will understand more about this painting style. A painting is not always a representation of a specific object or person and that is exactly what abstract painting is all about.

Handy Organic Ant Control for your Home

It’s a fact of life, unless you live in Antarctica, that pests will make themselves at home in your house or apartment.
There are a variety of insect pests you need to think of and no two are alike.  Rather than spraying toxic chemicals into
your home environment, consider using organic, non-toxic pest control.  It’s safe for your home’s human occupants and for
your pets as well.  Pests will show up in the air, your carpeting, your kitchen counter and other places you’d rather not
find them.

Let’s take a look specifically at ant control for your home or recreational areas outside. Remember that organic pest
control varies somewhat with the pest you’re dealing with and that just like with inorganic chemical pest control, you
don’t always use the same thing for ants as you do for fleas.  Here’s a look at your organic options for ant infestation
in your home.

For the organic treatment of ants, a common summertime pest, you need to make sure your countertops are free of crumbs and
anything sticky or sweet.  Cover your food well and keep your honey wrapped in a plastic baggy.  Leave water sources off
during the night and don’t leave dirty dishes lying around.  The same holds true for your deck or patio.  Clean all food
up after an outdoor meal and teach your children not to throw food into the yard, like watermelon pieces or other sweet
foods.

Your organic pest control continues with a small spray bottle filled with soapy water that you can spray on the little
beasts.  Put cucumber peels or slices in your kitchen, especially where the ants come in.  You can also put tea bags with
mint tea in them or cloves around the places where the ants are very active.  See if you can trace the column of ants back
to their entry point and set out a line of cayenne pepper, citrus oil, lemon juice, cinnamon or coffee grounds.
Ants won’t cross those lines.

For serious organic pest control against ants, mix a small amount of honey with an equivalent amount of Borax and aspartame.  Put about a teaspoon and a half of the mixture in a bottle and set the bottle (without a lid) on its side where ants are active.  This acts as a kind of toxic bait that the ants bring back to their colony.  Keep small animals and children away from this toxic bait.
Another organic pest control trick is to leave a low-wattage light bulb or nightlight around where the ants are.
It disrupts their day and night pattern and can confuse their patterns of food hunting.

If ants are on your deck outside, use your organic pest control skills and put a few cloves of garlic, previously cut
into pieces, between the cracks of the deck slats.  Ants don’t like garlic and will steer clear of the strong odor.
You can use some of the same indoor tricks outdoors, especially those involving the use of cayenne pepper, citrus oil,
lemon juice, cinnamon or coffee grounds.  You can’t use the trick using the toxic bait outdoors as some small animals
can get into it.

There’s no reason to resort to harsh and dangerous chemicals, indoors or out, when perfectly acceptable organic pest
control for ants will keep your home ant-free in a much safer way.  As long as you keep your kitchen and the rest of
your home clean and follow the above methods to discourage or kill ants, your summertime experience will be more
enjoyable and healthier for you and your family.

Youth The Concepts Behind Christian Mentoring

The process of guiding and mentoring people is a highly delicate one: mentors need to be able to allow their protégés to progress and get out of their shells, but they have to strike the balance between directing the movements of their followers while still allowing these fledglings time to find the strength of their own wings and fly with their own will. One such form of mentoring is Christian mentoring, in which a Christian looks after a protégé who may or may not be a Christian, but who will benefit from the strength and wisdom of the older or more experienced person.

One such mentoring relationship, at least in the Christian sense, is that between a senior pastor and his junior. The former will guide the younger in speaking the voice of God, and in bringing a sense of unity and Christian goodness to a flock. Another such Christian mentoring relationship is that between parents and children, where Christian parents have to guide their children in following the Christian way of living. Christian mentoring, therefore, is the passing down and sharing of knowledge and wisdom by someone who is an expert in a field, and with the precepts and principles of Christianity guiding the mentor and protégé.

In general, Christian mentoring programs will help people guide those who are younger than they in living a Christian way of life. Some mentoring programs will even exhort would-be or aspiring mentors to do two things at the onset: find a good mentor who will pass down knowledge and get an aspiring mentor started on good living and good Christian teachings; and, at nearly the same time, find a protégé who might benefit from your teaching and wisdom further down the line. Once these two persons are identified, a would-be or aspiring mentor is exhorted to be as creative as possible in meeting such people. These meetings might be as simple as stopping over at someone’s house, meeting over for coffee, or having dinner together.

Another way for the mentor and protégé to meet is through a shared hobby. Such a hobby might include running, biking, writing poetry, reading books, or even cooking. Despite the image of intense and sometimes alienating spirituality attached to Christian mentoring, many Christian mentoring programs are actually more about building a stronger relationship between mentor and protégé. The shared hobby may actually be a simple beginning: many mentors will share tasks with their protégés, such as smaller jobs at one’s office, training the protégé in various tasks, or simply listening to the protégé talk.

What makes Christian mentoring unique, however, is its emphasis on things that would otherwise make people appear vulnerable in the secular arena. For instance, mentors and protégés are required to listen to each other intently, and to avoid speaking about oneself as much as possible in order to learn better. Second, mentors and protégés are required to be as real and as truthful to each other as possible. Honesty is certainly the best policy in Christian mentoring, and if a protégé is feeling down, awkward, unwanted, or simply out of sorts, he or she is encouraged to talk to his or her mentor and humbly ask for guidance.

There are many different kinds of Christian mentoring programs out there. If you need more information, talk to your local Christian pastor, or do research over the Internet. Many such mentoring programs also have their own websites and mailing lists that can make it easier for you to read about their activities and enroll in their program.

Adapting To Change By Meditation

Adapting to any kind of change in your life can be very stressful. The one thing I have learned when it comes to any kind of change is to keep it on a positive level. To do that I stay calm by meditating and keep it all in perspective. I was talking to a friend how I was very apprehensive about a change I would soon have to make in my life. She told me that almost over twenty years ago she had bought a brand new car and it was parked in an alley next to her house.

She walked out of the house just in time to see and old vw bus scrape the front fender of her car. As she continued to tell me what happened she let me know she was trying to stay calm and knew she had to meditate and get focused on the situation. She went on to tell me that the driver got out of his car, threw his hat on the ground, then hung his head, holding it in his hands. She knew that he obviously didn't have the money to pay for the damage to her car and he almost started to cry.

My friend still meditating to keep things in perspective walked up to the man and you could tell he was very nervous and expected her to say something like What an idiot,Are you blind,or just something so mean that he would just feel terrible. As she walked up to the man she simply said don't worry about the scrape and to have a nice day.He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He began to cry tears of happiness and hugged my friend. He then ran to his wife who was in the car wondering what they were going to do and he hugged his wife and introduced her to my friend.

As they were talking my friend told them how she used meditation to keep as calm as possible because she had a temper in the past that caused her a lot of problems. The man and his wife and my friend became the best of friends. Here it is 20 years later and even though the man has now passed away and his wife is in a home for the elderly my friend still visits the woman every week and still talk about the day they had met.

Using meditation will certainly help you think about the situation your in and to not act on impulse, but to handle whatever situation it is you are in you will act responsibly. After my friend and I talked I thought how I could adapt to the change I would have to make by positive thinking and could make a bad situation into something that will have a very special meaning in my life. After our talk I went home and started using meditation to relax myself and now I feel better about myself and my life.

Achieving Happiness Through Meditation

There is only one way  to achieve happiness. That way is to simply be happy. You are probably thinking right now how do i get to be happy." "Things just don't work like that, It doesn't take into consideration the times that I am miserable because of problems or mishaps that come up in  my everyday life, not to mention the tragedies." At this point I have to stop and meditate. Meditation can be done many different ways, just find the one that works best for your purposes.

Being happy much more of the time than you have been is an incredibly difficult task to accomplish-not in the doing of it once you know how and then in keeping aware of what you have discovered.Yet,I still say that with meditation you can do it.The path that you have chose that led you to your current situation was not a few days or months in the making, but a long and strenuous path that has spanned through many years.

In reality it has taken you as long as you have been alive to become the way you are today. It has also taken you that long to achieve what you have achieved, to possess, and to arrive at your current condition.By taking the time to meditate and think about who you are,and what you have in your life is truly what you want,If you are completely satisfied with the way your life is going,congratulations-do more of what you have been doing and you will get more of what you already have in your life.

But if who you are, what you want, what you have, and your current conditions are less than what you want or perhaps are different from what you want, you have to start meditating about some basic changes you will need to make in your life.Failure to make those changes will find you continuing to seek the things you really would like in your life as the years pass by.

Because some of this that you are reading will seem impossible, ridiculous,or to you maybe even foolish and it may at first offend you, causing you to ridicule what you are reading and maybe even cause you to reject what you have read. I really want to suggest to you that before you may reject how meditation can help you through your life, ask yourself whether or not you want it to be true-then for your benefit please give yourself the chance to see it as true.

In this day and time with all the things we have to deal with in our lives it is very hard to stay on a positive level and be happy all the time,But just taking a few minutes a day just meditating by yourself will help you keep things in perspective where instead of being unhappy about the situation you are in you can find a way to find the happy part of being unhappy.
